hello for the record i wrote this on Saturday November 30th, but could not bear to send it out on a Saturday, a day not the same for reading like a Sunday morning is.
Saturday is NOT the same for reading as is Sunday morning! Also it is a day of synchronicity and connection. Mule, your love and care for the world is infectious and joyful and sparks new ways of seeing. Even more so knowing I just made two or three photos on a highway out west of a sign that said “pass with care,” a wonderful sentiment.
thank you, David! I was electrified when i saw your post knowing i had two paintings of the same idea in my studio and meant to say hey! hey! look! look! haha - thankful to be in your orbit and your kind words!
I read and reread every word. The lush details of your Mississippi November rings true for me, just a few miles away. What a vibrant way with words you have. 🍂
Sunday mornings are definitely for reading. It's very much church to me. I thought I saw a new pup on your IG! Pass with Care must be in our collective minds cause I drove by one of those signs this week and thought about it for days. Synchronicities.
Somehow I fell behind with your lovely newsletters but I’m catching up now. That swamp photo makes my heart sing & if you lived nearby, you could’ve raided our GA collards all winter. Ate a last mess of them a week ago & now they have all been plowed under to make room for peppers, tomatoes, squash, & peas.💜
We got there around 11:30 and they were in the middle of bible study. I'm not sure exactly when service starts but I guess noon? They take the collection before you know if Al Green is there that day or not, which of course we didn't mind.
We've loved Memphis for a long time - so glad you enjoyed it enough to want to come back. If you haven't been to Clarksdale, it's an hour and a half south - that's around where I live and they have live music every night :)
Delightful, as always. Your words, photographs, insights, experiences, and wonder fill my soul. Thank you for sharing you. Grateful I get to call you "friend."

Your photos are amazing this month. Which church is Al Greens? We were in Memphis recently and want to come back.
Thank you, Cherie! It is the Full Gospel Tabernacle Church - the address and more information can be found here: https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/al-greens-full-gospel-tabernacle-church
