“I wish I could paint like Carrol Cloar and it startles me to see my home in so much of his work, to have been standing in a painting and not known it.”

Enjoyed reading this post so much! I clicked over to Prairie des Femmes, then did a google search and realized, yes! I used to read Ashley’s blog back probably 10-12 years ago! Somehow it dropped off my radar so I’m glad to find it again via this post jigging my memory.

Appreciate everything about this. Keep those pawpaw seeds in the fridge. They won’t grow once dried.

Thank you! Will do! If I can get it together I'll save some seeds to send you for next year from some of the different things that did well? Hope your garden is miraculous!

"pawpaw fallen and caught in the branches, my first, banana - mango - cinnamon - strange, kept the big brown seeds" I had my first pawpaws this year too, from trees I planted 8 years ago. I haven't figured out the secret to knowing when they're ready, other than if I catch them when they just fell or if they're hung up in the tree. I tried to pick them early and ripen on the counter with no success. I've also found that they are such a treat for the chickens. THEY LOVE THEM! And I have 5 little volunteer trees coming up outside of my garden! I've saved many seeds from them as well.
