Haha, thank you! I wrote it as sort of a confession because I NEVER kill snakes!! I had this crazy idea he'd keep coming back for more since he found his jackpot 😬 then I had to google how snakes eat eggs because someone said they throw themselves at rocks to break the eggs and someone else said they have bones in the back of their throats and someone else said they whip their spines to break it 😂 so anyway!
Oh, Marshall, I can only hope that you have some idea of just how much your words move me and I'm sure everyone who reads your writings. I was there in that boat with you, I could taste the biscuit, but I'm gonna have to pass on the vienna sausages, unless I'm really really hungry, lol. But seriously, you write with the wisdom of someone who's been in this world for a hundred years or more. And your appreciation of the simple things, the things we so often take for granted, it really moves me and makes me stop and think about the beauty of all that surrounds us. I thank you for that, and I do hope you know how much you matter to us, how much comfort your words bring, and dang I didn't even mention your art, which is amazing and always carries a beautiful message. I love you, I'm happy to know you, I thank you for the joy you bring to my world.
After watering the comfrey & Joe Pye in the small butterfly bed back of my outbuilding, I read this in the morning cool (while listening to Amina Scott of NOLA). A delight. As always. And yes, there is always another real world in the real world…Summer begins its long goodbye. Alas, at this age so have I. At least, I hope it’s long….Be well. 🌹
